Hunn Choi, originally from Seoul, Korea, has been serving the United Methodist Church for over fifteen years. As a graduate of the University of Michigan, he worked in the field of aerospace engineering when he received the call to serve the kingdom. He had never thought of going into full-time ministry before; but during one prayer meeting, God put the following words into his mouth: "If it is your will, I will serve as a pastor." After seeking discernment for three years, Hunn received the confirmation that he had sought. Moving from California to Wilmore, Kentucky, he enrolled at Asbury Theological Seminary. After receiving his M.Div from Asbury and his M.Phil from Princeton Theological Seminary (Princeton, NJ), Hunn served a number of congregations in New Jersey and the Chicago area. He received his ordination as an elder through the Northern Illinois Conference of the UMC. 2003 marked a spiritual homecoming, as Hunn was appointed as senior pastor of the Lexington Korean United Methodist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. In addition to his role as senior pastor, Hunn is a member of the New Church and Congregational Development committee of the Kentucky Conference, and has taught a number of New Testament courses as an affiliate instructor at Asbury Theological Seminary.
Hunn has been married to his lovely wife, Messaeng, for sixteen wonderful and blessed years. They have committed their marriage to the glorification of God's kingdom, and the empowering of his people.
